The core question: Who are we, honestly?

VET is the identity layer.

It names what matters here, what gives the work life, where the energy is moving, and what visible target makes that identity real in the world.

This is also the layer of fit. Not everyone belongs in every system. A healthy community, venture, or partnership gets clearer when it knows what it stands for and what kind of person or work actually belongs inside it.

VET is where culture stops being branding and becomes something more testable. You can see it in who gets trusted, what gets rewarded, what gets protected, and where the group is willing to go.

At Every Scale

Individual

Your VET is the intersection of your values, your actual energy, your direction, and the kind of target that gives your work shape.

Community

A community's VET shows up in its culture. It becomes visible in who joins, who leaves, what gets celebrated, and how people handle tension.

Venture / AI system

A venture's VET shapes product choices, hiring, and standards. An AI system's VET shapes the values and constraints built into its behavior.

Why It Matters

A system without identity becomes impressionable.

It copies language from other people. It chases borrowed goals. It confuses fit with scale. Over time that creates internal drag, because the work no longer matches the people doing it.

VET protects coherence.
